This is strange.

Here's something that doesn't happen often...

You know those people in your life who you've known since you were a baby, literally since before you could walk?  You don't remember NOT knowing them.  You just always have.  Maybe you don't have friends like that and it's a rare occurrence, but I have a handful of these friends and I think it's pretty cool.

Now, two of these people are named Michael Gregory Oudman (born September 4, 1983 to Jack and Ann Oudman, pig farmers north of Lacombe at the time) and Emily Anne Leenstra (born March 12, 1984 to Fred and Corrie Leenstra, a carpenter and a school librarian).  Michael's family and my family have been friends for as long as I can remember.  We were best friends when we were kids and when my younger sister was born, he exclaimed, "Now I have TWO girlfriends!"  I spent almost every Sunday afternoon at his house.  Many of my childhood memories involve their pig farm.  Emily was born only 7 months before me and we were babies in the church nursery together.  We were always in the same class all the way through school, were in the same group of friends, always invited to each other's birthday parties, and even did one year of college together.

Now, these two friends of mine most definitely know each other, but they don't tend to hang around each other.  Which maybe explains this...

They are getting married, one day apart.  Emily will marry Mr. Jason McNichol on Thursday, September 23rd and Michael will marry Ms. Jennifer Schonenberg on Friday, September 24th.

Obviously they picked these dates entirely independent of each other, but I think that's pretty crazy.

Talk about two birds with one stone...  I'M SAVING ON TRAVEL EXPENSES!!!
