Good ol' Grande Prairie

Here are some pictures from the past week, our first hockey camp this summer at Peace River Bible Institute near Grande Prairie, AB. It was totally a fun week... not only were we on the ice twice a day, but we were also swimming, tubing, repelling, paintballing and a large list of other things too. It was great. We had 23 campers staying at the PRBI dorms with us, and 6 of those campers were girls.

I organized and ran a ball hockey tournament for their daily off-ice sport activity.

This is me replacing a screw in Austin's helmet using my trusty and ever-faithful Leatherman multi-tool. I love that thing... (I am forever thankful to Laura, my roommate, who bought it for me for Christmas.)

Myself and another assistant coach, Ian, listening as Glen speaks to the kids on the ice.

That beautiful Albertan sky over a bright field of canola.

This week we are in Prince George, BC, and then next week we will be at Trinity Western University in Langley. I will leave partway through that week to head to Prague, Czech Republic with Athletes in Action for a women's hockey outreach there. A group of Canadian women and I will be training and playing with the National women's teams of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I'm so excited. After that I get a few days off and then I head to Vancouver Island for a camp there. Wow.
