Sausages on Skates

Well, I don't know what to say cuz so far no one has come up with a good title for my blog. My brother and sister tried, but they weren't exactly viewer-friendly in some ways. Thanks guys.... yikes. I think I need something catchy, but not corny. Something that catches the essence of who I am... and all that jazz.. haha...

Today is Monday, meaning I'll be off to coach the little tykes this evening (5 to 6 pm). Some of my friends here refer to them as "sausages on skates" which paints an interesting visual picture. The kids are aged 4-6 so you can imagine what they look like with hockey equipment on. It amazes me that some of them still manage to move. It's always a great time though. Most of them have a lot of fun and are truly trying to learn the sport. There are others in which it is apparent that they don't really care to be there, but we do our best to be enthusiastic with them. It took some time for them to not be afraid of me (the new coach) but I know all their names now and many of them feel comfortable enough to laugh with me. I'm also getting to know some of their parents and other coaches... slowly but surely. (In the picture, that's me in the red jacket giving Sam some pointers.)

Other developments... I have a bit of a cough these days. That's no fun. I've finished all my Christmas shopping finally! Yay! And I'll be driving to Alberta for Christmas at the end of the week!

Hey Krista! Welcome to blogland. I always enjoy hearing/reading about what you're up to. Remember, if you ever need a break from the Vancouver scene and can't make it home, there's a little island not too far away and a house full of kids to distract you! The kids talk about you lots. Especially Danaka.

just for the record, i like the name of your blog. i think you should keep it just as it is... unless you wanna change it to what mike and heidi said.

i like the fact that you coach sausages. just be sure not to fry them up by accident.

Have a very merry Christmas back at home in the AB! Give greetings to your family too...and tell your brother (the unmarried one) that I MISS HIM AND NEED TO TALK TO HIM SOON!

PS - Are you coming back to BC for New Year's? There's a great party that Prins' should come to...
